Learning to Wait - Our Second Year

We awaited the winter snows to see how the lavender had fared...

Sleeping lavender

After planting our two inch babies last summer, we waited patiently for the winter to come and go, and then for spring to appear. For extra color, we planted tulip bulbs to produce some lovely color during the early days of spring.

As soon as the sun started warming the Valley, our lavender began to grow...and grow...and grow!

It was so much fun checking on the lavender and watching the domestic and native bees buzz from stem to stem.

We even had enough lavender to harvest and give some away!
